Toyota Ball Joints

Part of car steering mechanism: tie rod, steer...

Toyota Ball joints are very important for pivoting between the wheels and the suspension of your Toyota vehicle. Without them, the operation of your steering and suspension will be inconsistent and unstable. A Toyota ball joint has a bearing stud, a hardened-steel, and a socket in a steel housing. The bearing stud is narrowed and threaded, fitting into a tapered hole located at the steering knuckle. Dirt is prevented from entering the joint assembly by means of a protective boot. Ball joints are typically used on the front end of vehicles. If you have the conventional suspension system, your vehicle is probably equipped with the two ball joints in each wheel: a lower and an upper ball joint. On the other hand, if you have the MacPherson strut suspension system, a lower ball joint and an upper strut bearing are the ones that substitute the upper ball joint.

It is very important that your Toyota Ball joints are maintained to ensure that your tires and suspension are well coordinated with each other. Moreover, the weight of your vehicle should be well supported by a quality Toyota Ball joint. Your vehicle may be one of those that have ball joints supporting the wheel alignment settings; hence, you should regularly check the condition of your ball joints. The joints should be properly lubricated to sustain accurate movement. The replacement ball joints may with lubrication fittings, meaning, lubrication is required at every oil change.
